Ceremonial Matcha
This powerful green tea powder is made using only the highest quality organic green tea from Japan's Shizuoka prefecture. Ground into a fine, bright green powder using stone to prevent the leaves from heating during the process and losing it's quality.
It is said that matcha creates a state of 'stimulated calm'.

Preparation:

Use your 3g of matcha and add a small amount of water (around 50ml) at 80 degrees – any hotter and you will burn the green tea powder.

To maximise flavour and produce a foamy, velvety finish, it is important whisk the mixture well using an electric frother whisk or a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) in a W motion ensuring you get rid of all lumps and excess matcha from around the bowl.

Once you have formed a liquid paste top up with 200ml water at 80 degrees or a milk of choice to turn into a matcha latte.

Unfortunately it was marketed as “ceremonial grade” but it wasn’t true at all. In fact, it was even lower quality than average matcha available at Holland&Barette or Amazon. It was beige/brownish in colour which confirms its not ceremonial grade. Real ceremonial matcha is supposed to be very green almost neon green and it should not be towards beige or brown colour. I bought from this site it was totally beige leaning towards brown and the quality was so low that it gave me a sick stomach after consuming. It was extremely bitter while ceremonial grade matcha is not too bitter and is more sweet compared to average matcha. This is not ceremonial grade.
Perfect matcha powder. Mixed well with a nice foam and vivid green colour. The flavour is strong but well balanced. A little goes a long way.
