Grown in the North East of India next to the Brahmaputra river at almost sea level. The acidity and water leads to Assam's well known and loved malty flavour and strong, bright colour.
Fun Fact - The tea grown in Assam is 'Camellia sinensis var. assamica' - a native Assam variety of the tea plant which was only widely used after Chinese plants did not take to the soil.
Ingredients: Assam Black Tea
Preparation: Steep 1tsp per cup for 3-5 minutes in 95-100°C water.
